The UK Geodiversity Action Plan (UK GAP)

In October 2006 a small group met to reflect on how to develop a national-level Geodiversity Action Plan, what it may look like and aim to achieve and who would drive it forward. In March 2007 over 50 people from the geological community in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland attended a workshop in Chester to further explore these issues. At this meeting a 'core group' of organisations and individuals emerged who agreed to create a draft version of the plan which would then go out to consultation within the geological and wider community. For more information about the consultation, and to see the draft plan, click on the link here.

The UKGAP consultation ran between mid-January and mid-April 2008 and 29 responses were received in total. Where permission has been given by the authors, the responses have been reproduced here as pdf files. Responses of four pages in length or greater are reproduced as separate files and a further 10 shorter responses have been combined into one pdf document. The other responses will be published here if permission is granted from the authors.
